Juli Henner Named Air Force Assistant Track Coach

Juli Henner, a member of the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team, was named an assistant coach of the Air Force track and field team, the athletic department announced today. In addition to her duties coaching the Falcons' middle distance and distance runners, Henner will serve as the head coach of the Air Force cross country team. [+]

Travis Picou Named to MWC 10th Anniversary Indoor Track and Field Team

Former Air Force sprinter Travis Picou (2005-08) was named to the Mountain West Conference 10th Anniversary Men's Indoor Track and Field Team, the league announced this evening. Five home competitions, including the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships, highlight the 2009 Air Force track and field schedule that head coach Ralph Lindeman announced today (Sept. 19). Air Force's Matt Williams was named to the 2008 Division I All-Academic Track and Field Team, the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association announced this morning (Aug. 6). Air Force senior David Lissy, the 2008 Mountain West Conference indoor shot put champion and two-time all-conference selection, was honored by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) with its All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year award. Dana Pounds Finishes Second at Olympic Trials

Academy record-holder Dana Pounds, a current member of the Air Force World Class Athlete Program, placed second in the javelin throw in the finals of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., on Monday, June 30. Posting a distance of 189'9", Pounds finished just two feet behind the meet's winner. [+]
