AFA Fencers Conclude NAC Juniors Tournament

The Air Force Academy fencers competed in the North American Cup "B" Juniors competition in St. Louis, Mo., this past weekend, Nov. 8-10. Junior Daniel Trapani from Houston, Texas, finished seventh among 193 men's individual epee competitors. Freshman Simone Barrette from Louisville, Ky., took 14th in women's individual epee in the field of 125 fencers. [+]

Air Force Academy fencers competed in the first North American Cup (NAC) tournament of the 2008-09 season. The NAC Division II/III competition was held in Columbus, Ohio, last weekend, Oct. 10-13. The Falcons' top finisher was Libby De La Torre, who tied for third place among 67 women's individual epee Division III competitors. De La Torre, a freshman from El Paso, Texas, also earned her C2008 rating in the U.S. Fencing Association. [+]

AFA Fencers experience success in New Mexico

Air Force fencers had a successful competition at the New Mexico Open last weekend. During the two-day tournament, Sept. 27-28, several Academy fencers ruled their respective tournaments in the open senior mixed and open senior women's competitions. Tournament champions were sophomore Nick Stockdale, freshmen Simone Barrett, Libby De La Torre, junior Michael O'Connor and newcomer Cody Mattern. [+]

Fencers conclude Nick Toth Open

USAF Academy, Colo. - The Academy's fencers closed out Day 2 of the Nick Toth Open taking the top two positions in the senior mixed foil and a third-place finish in the senior women's foil events. Sophomore Nick Stockdale was the mixed foil champion and freshman Phil Choy was the second-place finisher. In the senior women's foil event, Ainsley Allen tied in third place. [+]

The Air Force Academy fencing team hosted the annual Nick Toth Open this weekend, Sept. 13-14. In Day 1, the Falcons had 10 fencers finish in the top 10 in four events. Freshman Simone Barrette took first place in the senior women's epee event. Junior Daniel Trapani took second in senior mixed epee followed by junior Peter French who tied third.
